Florida offers such a huge choice of places to see and things to do that you’ll never be bored on a holiday here. Orlando
One of the first places on many people’s ‘must see’ list when they visit Florida is Orlando. Filled to the brim with excitement for the whole family there are so many theme parks filled with rides and entertainment that you’ll never get round it all even if you spend the whole holiday here. The best thing is to pick out one area that appeals to you all the most and enjoy that for a day or two before moving on, otherwise you’ll miss out on so much more that Florida has to offer. So whether you pick something from the Walt Disney World Resort, to Universal Orlando Resort, Sea World Parks and Entertainment, or one of the others, make the decision early and stick with it.
Everglades
Probably number two on the big ‘to do’ list for many is the amazing Everglades national park. Located on the very southern tip of Florida, this is 1.4 million acres of swamp, saw-grass and sub tropical jungles. There’s always a lot going on here, and new adventures to be had. Its home to quite a few rare and endangered species such as the American Crocodile and the Florida Panther, but there are a diverse array of animals that call the Everglades home, including 27 species of snake, more than 40 mammals, 50 types of reptile, and over 350 different birds. There are lots of ways to see things here, walking, canoe, camping or even enjoying an airboat ride.
Other places you could think of visiting on your trip are Key West where you’ll find a wide range of water sports off shore and plenty of fabulous eateries and museums on shore. Miami where South Beach is the number one hot spot for the Miami party scene, and the Miami Zoo offers a great chance to see loads of animals and none of them in cages. Fort Lauderdale has the Jungle Queen riverboat and the Old Fort Lauderdale Village and Museum as well as the museum of art and the culture centre. While in Tampa there’s the Busch gardens where you can take a night time safari, Big Cat Rescue reservation, Manatee viewing centre and plenty more.
